Neglected Blog

It's been brought to my attention that my blog has been neglected. Ok, so Jen was right... But, I promise to write by the end of the week. May was a really busy month for me and I didn't have time! Plus, I didn't think people really followed my blog anyway...

See you soon!

The word for today is sore

Remember Pee Wee's playhouse? I always loved the word for the day and how he would go crazy every time they'd say it. (I had a weird fascination with Pee Wee's playhouse growing up, but we'll leave that blog for another day!)

Anyway, the word for today shall be sore! Which by definition, doesn't begin to describe how I feel today.

So let's take it from the top. Over a month ago I signed up for LA Fitness. I have been going here and there, but nothing too religiously. One of the perks of signing up was that I would receive a free session with a trainer. I made (and canceled) 2 appointments before. So I figured it was time to get this over with. On Tuesday I went and spoke with one of the trainers to once again schedule my appointment. He weighed and measured me, and at then end of all this he made a remark that has ever since replayed in my head a million times. "Based on your current height and weight, you're obese." OBESE? Wow, that was harsh! So, needless to say, yesterday I was determined to hit the gym and take whatever punishment he had ready for me. (even though I disagree about the obese comment. I figure his chart was for gringas. Latin girls should have their own chart!)

It went better than I thought it would. I worked out harder than I ever have and I felt it. But it was all worth it because I know it will pay off in the end. Plus, when I got home, Andy had gotten me roses because he was so proud that I actually went through with the training session. With support like that, I don't think it will be hard to meet my goal!

As we speak I'm sore beyond belief, yet motivated to continue.

Stay tuned. :)

Here goes nothing...

OK, so I guess this will constitute as my first official blog, so here goes nothing. :)

I'm really excited to get in to this whole blogging thing since I always have so much to say. Now I can just type it and share it with everyone all at once.

Today was my little brother (Albert's) Honor Roll Awards ceremony at school. Let's just say that it was a bittersweet day for me. I was so proud of him because he made it to the Superior Honor Roll. And at the same time, I was sad to see just how grown up he actually is. Normally, every time he has some kind of event at school, or with his baseball team he lets me take a million pictures of him. But today, it seemed as if I was embarrassing him by taking pictures. (I'll post the pics later this week so that you can see his anguished face!)

Of course, I can remember being his age in middle school and being embarrassed by some of the things my mom would say and do in front of my friends. But it was a real eye opener to be on the other side. I always thought of myself as the cool older sister that he'd be happy to introduce to his friends. I guess not...

On another note, (and completely off topic) I'm really looking forward to the Heat game tonight... And I don't mean like all the bandwagon Miami fans are looking forward to it. I mean FOR REAL! This is all very exciting for the few true Heat fans out there. The ones that sat by and watched them have the worst season in Heat history and still supported them. But in any case, a Heat fan is a Heat fan, so drink up, have fun and GO HEAT!!

Anyway, thanks to everyone who actually takes the time to read this. I appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Over and Out!

Nat :)

...And then there was a blog...

As if facebook, myspace, and twitter aren't enough, I've also decided to start blogging. Honestly, I don't know how many people will care to read what I write, but I figured I'd do it as a release. Here and there I've kept a few diaries, so this should be about the same...

For today, I'll keep it short and sweet. I hope you guys enjoy reading about my semi-boring life! :)
